About the Author

Michael Degen, Ph.D., is an educator, author, and longtime English teacher with more than three decades of classroom experience. He has taught at Jesuit College Preparatory School since 1994 and previously served as an English Department Co-Chair and Advanced Placement consultant for the College Board. Degen holds a Ph.D. in Humanities: Literary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas and has written extensively on literature, writing, and classroom instruction.
