Natera Shares Real-World Analyses and Data at ASN Kidney Week 2026, Highlighting the Critical Need for Genetic Testing with Renasight™

Natera, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTRA), a global leader in cell-free DNA and precision medicine, today announced new data that was recently presented at the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney Week 2026, highlighting the unique value genetic testing can provide for patients with CKD. These 18 abstracts, including three oral presentations, add to the growing support for Renasight, Natera’s genetic test for CKD.

Among the key findings were data from a large, real-world database of patients with indicators of kidney disease.

  • One such analysis revealed significant delays in diagnosing and managing CKD. Among patients with incident CKD, the median time from the first abnormal kidney indicator to a documented diagnosis was about 5.3 years, with median eGFR falling from 75 to 66 mL/min/1.73 m² in the two years before diagnosis.

  • Another analysis highlighted gaps in referrals for specialist care. Of patients meeting KDIGO-aligned high-risk criteria, only one third had any documented nephrology care, and those who did waited a median of 149 days. Furthermore, just 26.6% of high-risk patients with hereditary or structural kidney disease had documented nephrology care, the lowest of any high-risk group.

“These findings underscore the need for earlier etiologic evaluation. Renasight genetic testing is designed to address this need by clarifying the cause of kidney disease and supporting earlier, more targeted specialist referrals,” said Sangeeta Bhorade, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Organ Health, Natera. “Renasight is an essential tool in CKD management, which we believe should be a standard part of care for patients with signs of the disease.”
